


Māori and Pasifika Scholarship Programme
APM is dedicated to fostering a thriving and flourishing Māori and Pasifika allied health workforce
We recognise the importance of providing a supportive, nurturing, and culturally enriching experience for Māori and Pasifika students as they journey through study into their careers.
We are offering one scholarship to a Māori and Pasifika Occupational Therapy (Whakaora Ngangahau) student who are in their final two years of their degree.

Applications are open to students who:
- are in their final two years of a degree in Whakaora Ngangahau - Occupational Therapy
- are of Māori or Indigenous Pasifika descent
- are enrolled at an approved NZ training institute
- can demonstrate a commitment to improving Māori/Pasifika health outcomes

The scholarship package includes:
- $4,000 per award ($2,000 for each year)
- Student placement opportunities at any APM location across Aotearoa
- Opportunity to join APM’s Ngā Kaihāpai Māori Development Programme
- Mentoring/coaching support from APM Cultural Clinical Advisor during degree programme
- Options for paid summer internship within the organisation during degree programme (location dependent)
- Guaranteed shortlist for employment upon successful completion of degree
- Regular access to APM Māori and Pasifika staff network during degree programme
- Connection to the Pasifika Allied Health Aotearoa New Zealand (PAHANZ) leadership group
